One question we are often asked here is, ‘Technically I’m not a ‘librarian’, can I still participate in the ILN?’

We understand that the term ‘librarian’ does not accurately describe all of the jobs in our industry. Roles like data specialist, library assistant, repository officer, knowledge management specialist,  community liaison officer, and media specialist are common in many workplaces. Many libraries have even stopped using the term ‘librarian’ all together.

So if you do not have the title of ‘librarian’ we want you to know that YES you can apply to participate in the ILN.

If you’re interested in libraries, we’re interested in you. The ILN is open to anyone working in the library and information industry around the world.

Find out more about what you need to know before you apply and if you think this sounds like you, apply today.
