Have you ever wondered how your role differs from that of a librarian in say, Ghana, Spain, or possibly the Philippines? Are you are interested in gaining a broader perspective on the library industry but you don’t have the time to travel round the globe? Do you like sharing your professional experiences and hearing stories from others?
Well, the ILN might just be what you’ve been looking for.
The ILN program matches participants with another library professional from somewhere else in the world (we’ve had participants from over 100 countries so far) and help both to get to know each other over a four month supported partnership with things like discussion topics, Twitter chats and this blog. Think of it as a pen pal program for library professionals.
Interested? There are a few things you’ll need to know. To participate, you will need:
- Reliable internet access
- Fluent English skills
- Approximately an hour each week to participate
- A desire to build professional connections and learn from peers and colleagues.
Still interested? You’ll need to apply for your partnership and we will get back to you in March with all of the relevant details. But be quick, applications close at midnight on Sunday 15th February 2015.
And numbers are strictly limited, so apply early to ensure you don’t miss out!
Oh, and did we mention it is FREE to participate? (See, now I KNOW you’re interested)
