2014 Library Resolutions: Adrienne Hannan

1. What is one new thing you want to start doing in 2014?

I want to create a mobile Fab Lab that travels around our library sites for the community to use. I also want to try and create mini libraries in unusual but useful places (at bus stops, at the beach, at the airport or train station, on the back of bicycles etc.)

2. What is one thing you want to try doing differently in 2014?

Spend more time getting to know the people I work with. I find it too easy to hide in my office during tea and lunch breaks (blame my introvert side), so I’m going to join my colleagues in the staffroom and engage with them more often

3. What is one thing you want to stop doing in 2014?

I want to stop being hesitant. I’m going to be bolder and take more risks.

I’m not sure what you would like a photo of, so I’ve attached one of me.

Great topic to start the year off. Thanks ILN!!

  1. great idea,I love ur idea of creating mini libraries in unusual but useful places (at bus stops, at the beach, at the airport or train station, on the back of bicycles etc.)

  2. I have never heard of a Fab Lab until now. Researched it for about a minute, and already excited about the idea. You sound like a Placemaker (pps.org)- which is what I am trying to transform my library into “being” or embracing. I am interested in your progress with Fab Lab! Take care- and boldly go…!

  3. Sure and absolutely good resolutions for Hannan.
Please take calculated risks otherwise you may make or create more risks for the library. Interacting with your colleagues is a wise solution. You will make it.
